Solar Manager, KEO GmbH, and PPC have jointly announced a major step toward simplifying the commissioning of controllable systems. The use of the new EEBUS SHIP-Pairing Service will significantly speed up the installation process in the future.
The innovative pairing mechanism has already been successfully tested in the lab and was presented for the first time in a live demo on September 24 and 25 as part of the EEBUSummit in Cologne. There, the partners demonstrated the automatic pairing between Solar Manager’s energy management system and PPC’s CLS adapter, both equipped with KEO’s EEBUS stack. The interoperability between Solar Manager and PPC—which had already been tested as part of the PPC connect initiative —is now significantly enhanced.
Simplification for Installers and End Customers
The SHIP Pairing Service offered by EEBUS Initiative e.V. eliminates the manual steps previously required for device pairing. Installers or end customers simply need to register the system using their EEBUS login credentials. The devices are then paired fully automatically.
For the metering point operator (MPO), this means that once the CLS adapter is put into service, the control system can be set up and tested immediately. This eliminates the need for time-consuming additional contact with end customers or repeated visits by installers.
Conclusion:
Automated SHIP pairing eliminates the previously complex process of manually pairing devices. This makes the process more efficient, benefiting both installers and end customers.
