LTE smart meter gateways require SIM cards to connect to the respective cellular network. Thanks to our active collaboration with Germany’s leading cellular network operators, we offer not only the standard removable SIM card but also a soldered-in SIM for our LTE SMGWs.
Removable SIM
In 2FF format, designed to be inserted into the bottom of the device.
Embedded SIM (eSIM)
in the MFF2 format. It is permanently soldered into the SMGW, which helps prevent misuse of the SIM card. The eSIM also has a longer service life and is less prone to malfunctions caused by environmental factors.
SIM Card Management for Removable SIMs
We offer an efficient process for equipping LTE smart meter gateways with removable SIM cards right on the production floor and configuring them according to the electronic delivery note. To do this, you select a mobile network provider prior to production and provide us with the SIM cards.
SIM Card Management for Embedded SIMs
When using eSIMs, the smart meter gateways are manufactured with blank SIM chips. Once we receive your order, we’ll configure them to match the mobile service plan you’ve selected. We’ll handle the entire process for you.
