2026 has demonstrated just how rapidly Nessum is gaining international prominence. Millions of Nessum devices shipped, new applications beyond smart metering, and a growing international ecosystem make it clear: broadband powerline is evolving from a technology for individual markets into a globally deployable communications solution.
After three years of successful collaboration, the energy data-X innovation project has come to an end. Together with its project partners, PPC has worked to develop a secure, sovereign, and decentralized data ecosystem for the energy industry. The focus was on integrating intelligent metering systems (iMSys) as a highly secure communication platform. Successful use cases demonstrate how energy data can optimize processes, harness flexibility, and enable new data-driven business models in the future.
The smart meter rollout is moving forward—but despite relevant regulatory requirements, metering for industrial and commercial customers has so far often taken place in a separate, parallel infrastructure that bypasses the smart metering system. The upcoming iRLMsys solutions are designed to close this very gap.
