Dresden / Mannheim / Iserhagen, February 10, 2025: Robotron Datenbank-Software GmbH, Solar Manager, and PPC have successfully demonstrated a solution for the digital control of systems. This enables grid operators and other market participants to implement control commands to limit generation and consumption.

Octopus Energy, the climate-neutral energy provider from the United Kingdom, and PPC, the leading provider of smart meter gateways, have agreed to a strategic partnership for the German market. The goal: climate neutrality and customer benefits through the digital harnessing of decentralized flexibility via the rollout of intelligent metering systems (iMSys). The partnership is already gaining momentum, as the energy provider has already announced the installation of its 1,000th PPC SMGW.

In early November, the BSI, in collaboration with the “Secure Logistics Chain” project group of the VDE’s Network Technology/Network Operations Forum (FNN), developed and published a catalog of requirements for the “MSB supply chain.” In order for an MSB to be able to handle the delivery of SMGWs from the point of goods receipt on its own responsibility, this delivery option must be specified in the SMGW manufacturer’s certification documentation.
