Together with gridX, we are expanding grid-optimized control via the smart metering system: In addition to controllable consumption devices in accordance with Section 14a of the Energy Industry Act (EnWG), generation systems under Section 9 of the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG)—such as photovoltaic inverters—can now also be integrated and controlled.
The connection is established via our CLS adapter in combination with the gridBox from gridX—fully interoperable and based on the established EEBUS communication standard. This makes grid-optimized control of generation sources a reality—a crucial step toward greater flexibility in the power grid.
The new features are easily available via a software update and have already been certified, so they can be put to use in the field immediately.
As part of the Interop initiative“PPC connect – Interoperability in Action,”PPC is working continuously with partners such as gridX to expand, test, and implement interoperability in a practical manner.
