With the FOX (Flexible without a Box) logistics and on-demand service from Power Plus Communications (PPC), metering point operators (MSBs) now have access to a standalone logistics service for the delivery of smart meter gateways, which significantly simplifies the management of the MSB supply chain without the need for additional SiLKe transport packaging or the MSB’s own SiLKe-authorized personnel.
Working closely with partners such as Zählerhelden, PPC has tested the new logistics concept and successfully implemented it. The concept is based on an FNN-approved template for setting up the MSB supply chain, which provides MSBs with reliable, standards-compliant guidance.
The FOX Logistics and On-Demand Service significantly reduces the workload for MSBs: There is no longer a need for complex in-house logistics processes, and handling boxes is no longer required. Equipment is stored centrally, inventory levels can be viewed digitally at any time, and variable quantities can be flexibly requested. Shipments are made nationwide directly to service technicians or intermediate warehouses.
FOX is thus supplementing the existing supply chains on the market with a flexible, practical, and secure solution that offers significant advantages, particularly for operators with lean processes and decentralized structures.
The result: Installation of SMGWs can begin immediately, while logistics are handled by professionals. This allows MSBs to focus entirely on their core business.
Our partnership with Zählerhelden demonstrates how this works in practice: Devices are delivered to the central FOX warehouse, managed through the FOX Portal, and, as needed, flexibly shipped to technicians throughout Germany.
