Mannheim, August 15, 2024: PPC is celebrating the successful completion of the BSZ process. This marks the completion of an important milestone on the path to BSI-TR03109-5 certification for PPC CLS products.
“We are very pleased to be able to present the ‘CLS Adapter Submetering 2’—the first CLS product for the German energy market to have successfully undergone the BSZ certification process in accordance with BSI guidelines. This is also a reward for our hard work over the past year and a significant step toward full certification in accordance with BSI-TR-03109-5,” said Karen Schmid, CLS Products Team Leader at PPC.
By completing the Accelerated Security Certification, PPC also confirms the feasibility of meeting the IT security requirements of BSI-TR-03109-5 for CLS components connected to SMGW. The BSZ procedure for BSI-TR-03109-5, formulated by the BSI, is intended to enable rapid and standardized IT security certification. During PPC’s completed BSZ pilot process, all parties gained experience in how CLS units and associated functions can be certified in a time- and cost-efficient manner and how security-critical requirements can be implemented. “Following the successful evaluation of IT security, we are now aiming to complete the ongoing conformity assessment procedures in accordance with the Technical Guideline shortly, so that we can also provide evidence of the successful implementation of the interoperability requirements,” said Karen Schmid.
Ingo Schönberg, CEO of PPC, also reiterates the importance of successfully completing the BSZ certification: “The completion of this process is a crucial step toward enabling a wide range of application solutions from partners and customers using our certified open CLS platform and advancing cyber-secure digitalization. In the next step, PPC will also certify the CLS control system with EEBUS as well as EMS solutions developed in collaboration with partners.
