Robotron and PPC have successfully tested the interoperability of SMGWplus and Robotron GWA Manager, based on the new control profiles. These are based on the data model standards for the WAN interface of the SMGW (DIN VDE V 0418-63-8). This means that control specifications are transmitted to the smart meter gateway in a <strong>standardised<\/strong> and <strong>interoperable<\/strong> manner.<\/p>\n<h3>This goes one step further than the standard.<\/h3>\n<p>In the solution that was successfully tested, control signals are <strong>transferred from the Robotron GWA Manager to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ppc.d-f.cc\/produkte\/smart-meter-gateways\/smgwplus\/\">SMGWplus<\/a><\/strong> in accordance with DIN VDE V 0418-63-8. After transmission from the Robotron GWA Manager, the control signal is processed directly in the SMGWplus. It is then forwarded in EEBUS format to a controllable system or an energy management system. In accordance with the nationwide VDE FNN recommendations for designing EnWG \u00a714a, <strong>EEBUS<\/strong> is the minimum interface requirement between the MSB control device and controllable customer systems. The SMGWplus is a software product that can be retrofitted to all second-generation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ppc.d-f.cc\/produkte\/smgw-loesungen\/\">SMGW<\/a> hardware via an update.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"fusion-text\">\n<p>Control via SMGWplus is integrated into existing CLS\/aEMT landscapes in a process-equivalent manner. This enables the parallel operation of control boxes, SMGWplus, CLS adapters and so on in Robotron IT systems.<\/p>\n<p>This greatly <strong>simplifies installation<\/strong> and significantly <strong>accelerates the rollout of controls<\/strong>. The function is currently implemented in the test PKI and available for pilots. Based on the <strong>&#8216;Power Limitation&#8217;<\/strong> functional package anchored in protection profile PP-0073 V2.0, the firmware will be certified in the near future and made available in the active PKI from 2026 onwards.<\/p>\n<p>The successful implementation of the functional chain is also a highlight of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ppc.d-f.cc\/unternehmen\/partner\/ppc-connect\/\"><strong>PPC Connect<\/strong><\/a> initiative, launched in 2024.<em> \u201cOur goal is to develop new applications for the smart metering system together,\u201d<\/em> says Ingo Sch\u00f6nberg, CEO of Power Plus Communications AG. <em>\u201cAnd always with a clear focus on standardised interfaces in the energy transition ecosystem.&#8217; Only true interoperability enables easy customer participation.\u201d<\/em> In recognition of this successful collaboration, PPC presented Robotron with the PPC Connect Award at this year&#8217;s customer event, attended by over 250 people.<\/p>\n<p>The partners are looking forward to the next steps with confidence, with further field tests and partner integrations already in preparation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-sep-clear\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-separator fusion-full-width-sep sep-none\" style=\"margin-left: auto;margin-right: auto;margin-top:;\"><\/div><div class=\"imageframe-align-center\"><span class=\"fusion-imageframe imageframe-none imageframe-2 hover-type-none\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ppc.d-f.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Robotron_PPC_connect_Award_web.png\" width=\"672\" height=\"384\" alt=\"\" title=\"Robotron_PPC_connect_Award_web\" class=\"img-responsive wp-image-18432\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ppc.d-f.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Robotron_PPC_connect_Award_web-200x114.png 200w, https:\/\/ppc.d-f.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Robotron_PPC_connect_Award_web-400x229.png 400w, https:\/\/ppc.d-f.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Robotron_PPC_connect_Award_web-600x343.png 600w, https:\/\/ppc.d-f.cc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Robotron_PPC_connect_Award_web.png 672w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 672px\" \/><\/span><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Robotron Datenbank-Software GmbH, Solar Manager and PPC have successfully demonstrated a solution for the digital control of plants. This enables grid operators and other market participants to implement control commands for limiting generation and consumption.
